So how did we get here?
We started building SaleSight in 2022 because B2B data was stuck with outdated codes and generic tags.
That meant businesses got shoved into boxes — “tech company,” “retail,” “manufacturing” — even when real life is messier.
We don’t do boxes. SaleSight maps companies in 3D: what they make, the services they offer, the customers they serve, even their mission.
That’s why our insights are sharper, richer, and built for how businesses actually work.
But our approach to data is very different.


Start from
2022
The idea of Sunstone was born while working for a list broker in Dublin. Inspired by the story of the gemstone, Roger Courtney dedicates his research to Sunstone and sets out to create a more accurate alternative to B2B data categorisation.
November
2023
Roger officially launches Sunstone Technologies Limited, turning his idea into its very own company.
January
2024
Roger and his team finish development on MAPS, an in-house market activity profiling system that could be used to recategorise B2B data based on specific signals and keywords.
March
2024
We complete the first few client projects based on MAPS. This lays the foundation for a series of solutions created using MAPS like Market Validation, SaleSight, and Enterprise AI.
June
2025
After only a year in operation, Sunstone’s MAPS technology is named ‘Emerging Technology of the Year.’ at the AI and Analytics Institute Awards. We do love a shiny trophy.
Present
2025
We’re continuing to grow our in-house team and helping hundreds of new clients spot their best-fit markets faster than ever.
Because we aren’t here to fit in, or do anything conventional, really.
We’re not playing by the old B2B data rulebook. In fact, we tossed it out a while ago.
Instead of relying on outdated categories and generic lists, we built MAPS to read market signals and show us data on what companies are doing right now (not 20 years ago).
We find patterns, make connections, and help uncover opportunities the “big guys” will overlook.
